Comenius University Bratislava

 

Comenius University in Bratislava is the oldest university in the Slovak Republic. The university's core strategic objectives and mission are (among others):

1/ to sustain and develop its identity as a research and teaching institution of the highest international quality, a place of excellence, to be internationally competitive;

2/ to produce doctoral graduates not only with high personal and professional achievement but also with high human qualities;

3/ to improve the quality of all the types of doctoral studies and postdoctoral career.

University is organised into 13 faculties. There are 2 674 full- and part-time doctoral students (302 from abroad) in study programs lasting 3-5 years. Academic staff consists of 420 Associate Professors, 320+ University Professors. Comenius University is active in many international programs (EU, 6.-7. FP) including LLP/Erasmus (570 bilateral agreements).

 

What is the Comenius University contribution to the project?

The main role of the Comenius University in Bratislava in this project will be the coordination of work package 2 Development:  EHEA good practices in doctoral education. CU will be responsible for the supervision of the four study visits in Europe and will be the host of the 4th one, and of the 3rd consortium meeting. 

CU will also provide necessary expertise and input in all other essential project activities, and will be actively engaged in dissemination, quality assurance and exploitation activities (e.g. planning quality assurance, planning an exploitation strategy, planning dissemination activities).
