The 2nd Round Tables of the UZDOC project was hosted by the Uzbekistan State Institute of Arts and Culture in Tashkent, 4-5 July 2016.
The Conference marked the final stage of the project and gathered UZDOC project partners as well as important stakeholders in Uzbekistan, including the representatives of the Supreme Attestation Committee, Ministry of Higher and Specialised Secondary Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Higher Education Reform Experts, to present two project outcomes: Guidelines for the development of doctoral programme organization in Uzbekistan and Recommendations for national principles for doctoral quality assurance.
Both documents present the conclusions of three years of implementation of the UZDOC project: an in-depth analysis of Uzbek doctoral education system, study visits and sharing good practices among Uzbek and European partners, and discussions with stakeholders in Round Tables in Samarkand.
The UZDOC project is the first Tempus project that deals specifically with doctoral education in Uzbekistan, and as such presents an important contribution to the modernization process of Uzbek doctoral education.
